New Kingston DataTraveler USB Drives Take a Stab at Security

The past few years have seen outrageous scandal circulating around the security of flash drives (remember Stuxnet?).  The industry has sought ways to improve the technology while allowing it to become simultaneously more secure and flexible.  Kingston Technology Company, Inc., a world renowned leader in memory products, has made some excellent strides toward that goal with the release of their new USB drive additions.  The Kingston DataTraveler 4000 and the DataTraveler Vault will hopefully bring a much anticipated change.

Evolution of USB Flash Drives: USB 1.0, USB 2.0, USB 3.0 Flash Drive Evolution

USB Flash drives have been around for more than a decade, but they were not as popular or as powerful as they are today. Like every piece of technology, USBs had to be built form the ground up and went through several changes before they caught the eye of the awaiting public. Follow us now as we take you through the last decade and analyze the evolution USB flash drive and how they came to be today.

The year was 1995 and companies were scrambling to create the first universal connector for emerging electronics. Companies such as IBM, Intel, Microsoft, and Compaq banded together came up with the idea for a Universal Serial Port (USB). The first version of USB would be named USB 1.0 and would not be officially introduced to nearly a year later in 1996. The 1.0 specifications are trivial by today’s standards, only topping out at 12Mbit/s, but USB had to start somewhere.

How Come Apple & Microsoft Xbox 360 Do Not Support Blu-ray?

Blu-ray discs have seen remarkable growth over the past few years. The format famously defeated HD-DVD in February of 2008. Since then, it has become the format of choice for high-def home entertainment and computer data storage.

According to statistics published by Swicker and Associates, 1.2 million Blu-ray discs were sold in the US and Canada in 2006. In 2007, that number had grown to 19.2 million discs per year. By 2009, Blu-ray sales were topping 177.2 million units and growing! That is fantastic growth by any measurement, and yet, Blu-ray is still not as big as it could be.

Get Affordable CD/DVD Disc Packaging with CD Envelopes

An envelope could be defined as any kind of paper or cardboard packaging whose purpose is to store or protect flat objects. In that sense, a CD envelope is simply another term used to describe a disc sleeve or cardboard mailer.

By definition, a paper CD sleeve is also an envelope since it completely encloses the disc and has a flap which can be folded or sealed shut. As far as CD packaging goes, paper sleeves offer basic disc protection at an incredibly low price. A sleeve will protect a full-size CD or DVD disc from scratches and scuffs and at just $7 dollars for 100 sleeves, they are a super value!

New Sony Micro Vault Tiny Mini Style USB Flash Drives

Cute, small and functional.

These are the best words to describe the new Micro Vault Tiny USB flash drive, the newest addition to Sony’s Micro Vault family which sports a stylish miniature physique and comes in different bright colors like white as well as limited edition pink and lime green.

Because they often get lost, mini USB drives are not advisable to users who are constantly on the go. Nonetheless, the translucent flash drive (each color matches with a specific capacity) offers maximum portability, weighing only around 4 grams with a 4.6 mm thickness. It has a capless design that makes it easier for you to insert this plug and play device without having to worry about losing the lid. Apart from that, it has a strap hole at the other end for you to attach it to any key ring, ID strap, phone, or other mobile device. Utilizing this strap is the best method to prevent the loss of this colorful creation.

Auntie El's Lebanese Kitchen, Auntie El's Custom DVD Package: CDROM2GO's Customer Spotlight

Our Customer Spotlight this week is a DVD project we recently completed for Auntie El’s Lebanese Kitchen. Most of us are familiar with Lebanon and its capital city of Beirut because of the news headlines. Political turbulence aside, this country of 4 million people is also known for its Mediterranean climate, diverse population, and of course, great food.

Auntie El’s custom DVD package features a selection of her favorite Lebanese recipes from the old country. The DVD video covers 15 traditional favorites such as tabouli, hummus bit-tahini, and baba ghannuj. What makes the project unique is that it also includes a printed 8-page booklet inserted into each case.
